Aaron Stratman, PhD

Aaron

Dr. Stratman has worked in the Lincoln area since 2004. His therapy focuses on changing the patients’ relationship to their thoughts, feelings, memories, and other so-called private events. His therapy is less about making anxiety or depression go away and more about getting his patients untangled from the thoughts, feelings, and reactions that impede their moving in a direction that is important to them and that can create a rich, full and meaningful life for them. He prefers to see patients from age 10 years through late adulthood, but evaluates each case after phone intake. He works with a variety of presenting problems, including anxiety, depression, marriage difficulties, and adjustment issues. Dr. Stratman also considers presenting difficulties from a psychophysiological approach that facilitates calming the nervous system. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Kansas and internship training at Catholic Social Services in Lincoln, NE. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and doing outdoor activities with his wife and children.
